Collection: Birch Wood Furniture
Cultivated for its ornamental properties and high quality wood, birch trees commonly grow in the temperate zones of the northern hemisphere. Due to their need for continuous water supply and well drained soil they are often located near lakes and rivers.
A fine grained pale coloured timber birch is often admired for its attractive satin-like sheen. Together with the highly sought after timber, the bark, sap, leaves and berries of the tree are all also harvested for varying purposes from pharmaceuticals through to natural flavourings used in products such as maple syrup.
Because of its attractive grain and finish birch wood is an ideal timber for furniture production and is commonly used for various other applications including solid timber doors, canoes and the production of timber children's toys.
