Native to China, Japan, Vietnam and other Asian countries the elm tree (Ulmus Parvifoliais) is a tough and hardy landscape tree known for its ability to tolerate harsh planting situations with a wide range of temperatures, light and humidity. It's versatility and hardy nature makes the elm tree popular across the globe for a variety of applications including park and street trees through to delicate bonsai installations.

  

Elm wood ranges in colour from reddish brown through to light tan and off white. Known for its strength, long life and attractive grain elm wood is highly suitable for furniture and can even be used in semi exposed positions.

Traditionally used for products such as baseball bats and axe handles, it's ability to be steam bent makes it perfect for specific applications such as timber bows and cross back chairs.
